Why Renew?

Have you recently changed roles or jobs and are considering letting your membership in the Business Architecture Guild® or certification lapse?

It may be a good idea to stay current. It'll make you more marketable, and it may open the doors to other opportunities you hadn't thought of already.

Yearly membership in the Guild is only $125.00 USD. This is equal to or less than most industry association fees. With that you get access to the BIZBOK® Guide, but so much more.

We also have a very flexible program to earn Continuing Education Units to keep your certification current. You have 3 years to earn 25 credits. In addition to attending events and volunteering with the Guild, you can also view recorded webinars (and pass a 3 question quiz) or volunteer at an NGO of your choice by contributing business architecture related support. Accepted NGOs include public charities, religious communities, civic communities or sustainable not-for–profits.

Here are some questions to consider as you make your decision:

Did your certification help you get your current job or change careers?

It can again. Holding certifications looks good on a resume. Business architecture is used across verticals. Even if your job title is no longer Business Architect, there will be times when your business architecture knowledge helps you.

Do you want to be able to fall back on your old career?

If you’ve been working for any length of time, you know that the job market is volatile. If business architecture helped you in an earlier job, it may help you again when it becomes necessary to leave your current job. Business architecture is used across the globe and across multiple industries, so the skills you have gained can be applied in any new environment. If you are retiring and want to spend some time providing meaningful help to your community or favorite causes, business architecture knowledge can be invaluable.

Did you spend a good amount of money or time getting the certification?

Most of our CBA®s spent months studying for the exam. You only need spend 25 hours over the course of 3 years to maintain it.

Does the certification or membership offer other perks and benefits, such as networking opportunities?

Business architects are everywhere! Attending one of our events or Local Guild Community meetings, or making connections virtually through our Social Link mobile app, can benefit your career.

If you’ve considered all the questions above, we hope you realize that your certification and membership is a valuable personal asset that is easy to retain while building skills, your career and community.
